Door Window Actuator Arm Reinforcement
Problem
Control arm is made of relatively week structurally
aluminum. Over time the metal fatigues and begins to
bend. Eventually the arms may completely bend resembling shallow
letter S
shape.
Correction
Reinforce the arm with two aluminum
angles as shown below
- cut aluminum angle side to the length equal to the thickness of
the arm's material,
- drill holes for rivets:
- sand surfaces on both arm and angles and use epoxy
before riveting:
- reinforced arm should be less prone to bending:
